As spring pulls into high gear, it’s truly our favorite time, and the best time of all to hike, walk, eat, and ride a bike. From fragrant wildflowers to tulip festivals to returning and nesting birds, this is the most exciting and enveloping time of year. During April our most popular option is a tour to Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge but this is also one of the best times of year to visit Silver Falls with our half-day hiking tour. We’re seeing more people join us for the easiest ways to get introduced to the city with our Walk Around or Bike Around Portland if the weather works for you. It’s also a great time to check out the abundance of great food with our Food Carts of Portland’s Eastside bike tour.
April is truly the perfect month, with something for everyone. We usually see 2-3 inches of rain over the course of the month, and about half the days are rainy. Those boost our waterfalls to roaring; they truly have a life of their own! And our mosses are absolutely vibrant and glowing. For the third week of April things are looking lovely and warmer than normal, with no temperatures below 45F/8C forecast and some ideal weather with 75F/22C highs and mostly sunny alternating with sprinkles — rainbow weather! Blossoms are out everywhere and we saw the gorgeous cherry blossoms on the waterfront go through their cycle. All of our tours should be operating without any major weather-related obstacles, but we will reach out to you if you have booked and weather conditions change. We never cancel for rain.

We will contact you to chat about the conditions prior to your experience if anything is out of the ordinary. We recommend good boots or shoes with traction and plenty of layers that can handle occasional rain and cool breezes, but it is not bitter cold even when we get a bit of mountain snow in the distance.
