Portland is all in for brunch; so much so that we call it Holy Brunch. Lined up with their coffee cups outside favorite brunch spots from the sublime to the nostalgic, you can spot a longtime Portlander by their ability to stand in line no matter the weather. On the weekend days the open hours for some of our favorite spots shift and so we may as well take advantage of the only-on-the-weekend favorites!
In this tour we will sample Portland’s legendary food scene with trendsetting tastes and unique-to-Portland experiences. This will be a very leisurely walk to visit a few of Portland’s invention: food carts, as well as bakeries, chocolate or coffee roasteries, and hole-in-the-wall favorites. In this easy, slow-paced walk we will try foods from food carts and shops, including sweet and savory, and an option for kombucha, coffee, tea, or boba.
This experience is set across from downtown Portland in a neighborhood packed with historic and trendsetting food options in a backdrop of hundreds of murals and street art, both authorized and unauthorized.
The tour in total is 1-2 miles (2-3.5 km) of walking, with plenty of food sampling at some of our favorite options. Menu items will usually include Portland’s vegetable-forward take on Belgian waffles, a city’s top specialty of a hidden-in-plain-sight bakery, the very newest doughnut stop, what may be Portland’s best breakfast sandwich, and a locally-crafted beverage worth waiting around for. 2.5 to 3 hours, $90.
