It’s all about the bike ride! We like to spend more time riding in the neighborhoods Portlanders love, but always stopping to smell the roses. Start in the inner Eastside, where we will safely fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for a sweet 8-11 mile ride through a pretty residential neighborhood, to our favorite rose garden, into an art-heavy industrial district, across the sexy Tilikum Bridge, and onto Portland’s waterfront. From there, it’s a trip along the edge of downtown and more stories, before we head over another bridge back to our shop!
On this slow-paced, easy-going tour you will see a number of the city’s neighborhoods and scenic highlights. We won’t visit quite the same spots on every tour (weather, time of day, season and the interests and energy levels of the guests all play a role) but be prepared to learn, see, smell and learn about:
- The Ladd’s Addition neighborhood with its historic homes and fascinating layout
- Roses and rose gardens and how they were popularized in Portland in the late 1800s and still are favorites today
- Food carts and food cart pods
- Coffee shops, roasters and why we love all that so much
- The Willamette River waterfront and the beautiful parks along it
- The South Waterfront and the Aerial Tram — why we have such a cool method of transport
- How bike infrastructure helps us establish easy biking in the city
- Doughnuts, why we love them, and what are our favorites
- In season, fountains and markets along the river
- Fun features from the famous Portland Oregon stag sign, to a floating walkway, to the world’s (almost) smallest park

You’ll visit most of the city’s quadrants, ride over two bridges, and along the Willamette River. We’ll visit almost-secret beaches, read poetry written in sidewalks and rocks, see public art of every shape, color and texture. And have you tried some of the city’s best doughnuts or ice cream? We’ll tell you our favorites! All along the way, we’ll tell the stories of the city we love. Wondering what to wear?
Bikes, helmets and water provided. 3 hours, $59
