Chief of storytelling, tour guide extraordinaire and strategic director
Sarah has been working in the biking and hiking tourism industry for a decade, and as a bicycle evangelist for nearly 20 years. Her work has included community-focused bicycle support as well as media campaigns; she is still locally famous for having pushed a fast food chain to officially allow bicycles in their drive-throughs, inspiring a Portland ordinance requiring bicycle and pedestrian access to drive-through windows if there is no other ordering option.
Sarah’s storytelling roots come from a long tradition of writing, from literary essays to a rich blogging career and a strong background in journalism. She works to weave research-based historical facts and anecdotes together with science and native mythologies, as well as the particular cultural mythologies of a city, to inform both her personal writing and the company’s tour narratives.
As tour developer, Sarah has set the industry standard in several tour categories, creating tours that inspire imitation (the highest form of flattery). Sarah believes that walking in the forest and riding your bike are direct causes of happiness; her personal mission is to unlock the joy in everyone.
Sarah, we really enjoyed the Cannabis Culture Guided Bike Tour!! You are infused with wonderful information!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the Portland area and for showing us the beautiful neighborhoods! Maybe we can book another tour when we come back to Portland.
Carolyn, thank you so much for your sweet comment and for joining us on the tour! It’s such a favorite of mine and I can see that what you picked out made you truly happy. I’m glad you were able to purchase some functional glass art as well! I can’t wait to have you come back and join us on other fun excursions! It was lovely to meet you. — Sarah
