Summer!! There’s a great reason July and August are our busiest months; the weather is nearly always absolutely perfect. You’ll hear us say “what a beautiful day!!” every single day, with the possible exception of the days over 85 degrees F / 30 C (we are wimps when it comes to heat). Average highs are around 80 F / 27 C and sunshine with a few speckled clouds is the expectation. For those who like warmer days it is the best time to hike as the wild berries are ripe along the trails and it is always a good time to ride a bike. From berries to wildflowers to typically warmer days to festivals galore, this is such a fun time to visit. During August our most popular option is a tour to Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge but this is also one of the best times of year to visit Silver Falls with our half-day hiking tour. We’re seeing more people join us for the easiest ways to get introduced to the city with our Walk Around or Bike Around Portland if the weather works for you. It’s also a great time to check out the abundance of great food with our Food Carts of Portland’s Eastside bike tour.

The end of August looks like more hot weather, with moderately cool mornings of 60F/16C and highs in the 80s and 90s, the low to mid 30s C. All of our tours should be operating without any major weather-related obstacles, but we will reach out to you if you have booked and weather conditions are too hot for afternoon bike or walking tours. We never cancel for rain and the Columbia Gorge/Multnomah Falls tours do not cancel for heat unless it is extreme.
