9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. departures, 3-4 hours, $65
Travel through four of Portland’s quadrants, and explore 8 to 10 of the city’s unique districts by food and our European-style streetcar. Stroll, taste, see and learn about what makes Portland so special, all with the accompaniment of a passionate local.

Starting at Director Park at the edge of the Cultural District in Portland, we will begin our exploration with short streetcar segments interspersed by leisurely walks through several districts. Enjoy the shade of the old giant elms as you walk past the art museum for your first streetcar ride into the Pearl District. Discover how this art-rich district got its name and visit its award-winning parks. Get off the streetcar again in Slabtown to explore how the historically industrial district has modernized, yet retained so much of its turn-of-the-century charm.
Back on the streetcar, you will skirt the NW neighborhoods to cross one of the most scenic bridges over the Willamette and into the funky, coffee- and food-rich inner eastside. In the heart of the Central Eastside is a street art explosion! We’ll learn about the riches of tea, coffee, beer, wine and distilleries — and more — and get recommendations for future exploring on your own. The pedestrian-, bike- and transit-only Tilikum Crossing takes us past space-age buildings in the South Waterfront and into the University District. Back in SW Portland, we will walk through some historic park blocks and fountains that made the name for Portland’s urban planning, and also brought us into conflict over racial and cultural ideals. We’ll explore how Portland’s activist spirit has challenged its government and structures, before returning you to the center of the city, Pioneer Square.
This tour in total is 2.5 – 4 miles of walking (4 – 7 km), 3-3.5 hours.
