As spring begins, everything comes out to celebrate, from the birds to the blossoms to the cyclists!
Our favorite tours this time of year are the Chocolate and Coffee walking tour and the full-of-possibility Sunrise and Aerial Tram tour. Of course it’s always great to get into the easiest ways to get introduced to the city with our walk around or our brand-new Streetcar around Portland if the weather works for you. And maybe you should know about our Coffee Roasters of the Eastside walking tour?
Is it a good month to ride a bike? The answer is always yes! Try our Bike Around Portland for a nice overview of the city or our great Street Art of Portland bike tour for a few hours of color-soaked fun.
March will be rainy and this March is no exception. We usually see 3-4 inches of rain over the course of the month, and more days are rainy than not. Those boost our waterfalls to roaring; they truly have a life of their own! And our mosses are absolutely vibrant and glowing. For the week of March 1 – 7 things are looking moderate, with no temperatures below 40F/4C forecast and some lovely periods of dry weather between the rainy — rainbow weather! Blossoms are beginning to come everywhere and we are on the watch for the gorgeous cherry blossoms on the waterfront. All of our tours should be operating without any major weather-related obstacles, but we will reach out to you if you have booked and weather conditions change. We never cancel for rain.

We will contact you to chat about the conditions prior to your experience if this is likely. We recommend good boots or shoes with traction and plenty of warm layers, but it is not winter style cold even when we get a bit of high elevation snow. More about what to wear here!
It is also the return of Portland Dining Month after a five-year hiatus! The event goes through the month of March and includes three-course meals at 100 restaurants throughout the city for either $35 or $55. A few favorites: the Iraqi restaurant and downtown institution DarSalam; the elevated farm-to-table restaurant in an industrial neighborhood, ClarkLewis; the longtime Italian fine dining darling of Buckman, Nostrana; the family-run Lebanese oasis on SE Belmont, Hoda’s; and the best casual seafood restaurant on the eastside, Flying Fish.
