“What is going ON in Portland?” is a refrain we hear a lot. Whether it’s about planned protests or the current president’s response to said protests or an emergency naked bike ride, you probably heard about us! Even our Japanese visitors exclaimed about the “Portland frog!” when we saw a t-shirt in the window on a recent walking tour.

In a government shutdown, all of our tours still operate as planned. The Columbia Gorge scenic area includes public highways, state parks, private land and residences, highway department parking lots, and a whole lot of forest, none of which requires any federal intervention to access.
We’d love the government to get their act together and provide the services and financial support for our communities that they have an obligation to do. Fortunately, however, no ticket takers, gate openers, or federal agents are needed to allow us to visit waterfalls, hike in the forested trails, bike on the historic highways or walk through our city streets.
If you are flying to Portland and fear your flight might be delayed or canceled due to the current FAA crisis, feel free to wait to book until you know you are in the air; or reach out to us if you get a last-minute cancellation. We are happy to do what we can to move things around.
