Our guide-founders have developed an expertise and deep relationships in the Willamette Valley wineries and other nearby wine regions. Take advantage of their knowledge and connections with your group for a day tour of small wineries in either the dense collection of world-class wineries in the Pinot Noir-rich Willamette Valley and discover some of its lesser-known varieties as well in this tour meant to explore wineries whose names you may not have heard before — but you won’t forget.
Bringing groups to the beauty of the Willamette Valley is what we love best
We provide two products to appeal to different needs.
Our first product is our classic customizable Small Wineries of the Willamette Valley tour, which takes a more relaxed approach to the day, leaving Portland at 11:00 in the morning and visiting three or four wineries. This tour lasts 6 to 7 hours and has two options: with wine tasting fees for $179, or without for $129.
We’ll make adjustments to the day’s itinerary depending on what you and your travel companions enjoy and find intriguing. Many private wine tours provide customization, but our tour guides are responsive, ready to shift appointments as we move through the wine tasting experience.
Depending on your day and group, this could include a stop in one of the small wine towns in the Willamette Valley or lunch at a winery. Vegetarian and gluten-free lunch options are always available. Lunch is not included in the price of the tour.
Our second product has a shorter schedule and keeps to a relatively small list of winery partners (which vary depending on day of the week and season), our Best of Willamette Valley Wine. The tour leaves Portland at 12:30 p.m. and visits two wineries. This tour lasts about 5 hours and does include wine tasting fees. Four person minimum. $125.
Our approach with these tours is not just to introduce you to wineries that tell the story of the Willamette Valley — its history, its geology, its wine varieties and its unusual variety and depth of terroir, its people — but also to provide an experience that’s tailored to the season.
We focus on wineries with smaller case production but very big stories, views and flavors. Expect a deep and broad exploration of the terroir, history, and geology of the Willamette Valley and the surrounding regions that influence its wines. On many days, this includes conversations with the winemakers themselves, and always includes personal interactions with the scientists and wine experts who have been working in the Willamette Valley for decades.
On both tours, pickup in or near downtown Portland included; our pickup list includes most downtown Portland hotels and inner Portland AirBNBs. If you’re staying a little out of the downtown area, just contact us and we’ll provide a convenient meeting point.
