Portland’s chocolate scene is overwhelming; let us navigate you through its origins, passionate makers, and diversity with this walking tour that delves into what some call “decadence” but we call “delight.” Chocolate is a virtue! And when paired with wine, another specialty of the Willamette Valley, we believe you’ll find this tour unmatched in breadth and deliciousness.
Chocolate and Wine Lover’s walking tours leave from Director Park, and we keep our groups to 10 or fewer people for intimate, personal experiences.
Our tour hits both the well-known highlights and some of the secrets of the chocolate scene, with a few surprises we don’t want to give away. Among the stops, we’ll pass by Cacao (which sells lots of the city’s best chocolate as well as a history as a pop culture reference you may know); Moonstruck (one of the oldest craft chocolate makers in the city, famous for their truffles); and Azar Indulgences (where we’ll taste both chocolate and a pairing with wine). You’ll taste chocolate in myriad forms and styles; think of it as a chocolate education. Trust that you will not leave the tour wanting!
The tour in total is about 2.5 miles (4km), mostly flat walking, with several tastings of chocolate — just the right amount so you’ll have room for wine as well! We keep groups very small, so you’ll have an intimate experience with your enthusiastic guides. Includes multiple chocolate tastings, a couple of surprises, and wine tasting at the final stop. 2 p.m. Wed-Sun, 3 hours, $50.
